Hi, I’m

Merav Levkowitz. 👋

I’m a copy and UX writing expert, lecturer, and consultant.

I write copy that helps you engage your prospects and customers, improve your user experience, and strengthen your brand voice and tell your story.
(And I train teams to do all of that on their own, too.)

I’m a word nerd, lover of the M-dash and Oxford comma, and stickler for consistency.

As the US-born daughter of a Colombian and an Israeli,
precise communication is in my blood.

I’ve spent my entire life tailoring language and words to different audiences and cultural contexts. My first job out of college was as a translation and localization project manager, and while these days I work primarily in English, that consideration of different languages, audiences, media/platforms, and contexts is ingrained in me for good.

I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember.

True story: When I was about 10, I asked my parents why our favorite bookstore’s newsletter (yes, they were ahead of their time!) didn’t include reviews of children’s books. With some encouragement from Mom and Dad, I wrote to the staff and offered to be their pint-sized reviewer-in-residence—and I got the gig! Every couple of weeks, with the help of my skilled typists and emailers (ahem, parents), I would put together a review of a recently devoured book and send it off. A writing career was born.

I grew up in a family of computer scientists.

Even though I studied international relations, I guess all that dinnertime tech talk and those “Take your kids to work” days got under my skin, and welp, here we are: a writer who works with tech companies. So while the extent of my coding ability is (very, very) basic HTML, I know a lot about tech, and I love the fact that my job exposes me to new topics and angles of the tech world (Cybersecurity! Health tech! Kubernetes! Fintech!) every single day.

 Some “official” stuff:

  • I’ve trained 600+ people through my workshops at companies like Google, Fiverr, Riskified, and more

  • I have a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Georgetown University and an MBA from the Technion

  • I developed and teach Israel’s only university-level UX writing course in English (Reichman University)
